Starting at an early age with Magic The Gathering and a plethora of other TCG’s, Dan evolved his way to Pokémon world events where he not only established his future in the hobby, but also turned down his future wife to be in order to buy more Pokémon cards. If this is not a dedication and love for the hobby, I truly don't know what it is! Delving into some of the most niche cards ever released or perhaps some that never technically were, Dan has made himself into the human encyclopedia of the Pokémon hobby and beyond. Kindling the love of Doctor Who that brought him back into the hobby, establishing the adult appropriate relationship with his favorite Pokemon Vaporeon, and ultimately educating the masses to some of the most important yet not widely known information in this hobby to date, we would not be where it is today if we did not have people like Dan Norton aka DJGigabyte with us along the journey. While it may have taken me hours to find a single still image of Dan smiling, I'm sure through today’s podcast we not only can make him but all of you smile along with us in what I know will be a very educational, enjoyable, and memorable conversation. The journey we have here today will be like no other! From shad fishing and nearly drowning in the American river (while ensuring to save his father’s fishing rod), to auditing the military's computer systems prior to the War Games movie release, then into participating the biggest boom of basketball card history we have seen since the inception, and now to the most complete English Pokemon collector in the world. We will cover a vast array of slighted humor, self-deprecation, and verbal abuse that would normally be reported to the authorities but because it's on the Pokémon Rants Podcast we'll let it all converge into the Sliding Doors (if you will) of today's conversation. To say that I'm honored to have Uncle Dave aka David Persin with us here today would be a gross understatement. What does it really mean to change an industry? Changing the rules of engagement, educating the masses, upgrading the underlying belief and the value that is ultimately perceived by the people therein is just a spark of what this Jolteon lover has in his over 10k volts of electric-potential. Zack (aka GemMint Pokemon) has truly been an inspiration for so many that there is no telling where this hobby would be without him (minus the pull tabs on your grading submissions). Inspirated by those oh so special jungle packs from grandma and perhaps the Jolteon found therein, what was just a young boy's excitement has evolved like Eevee to a truly electrifying experience that will go down in the books Pokemon history. As he has done for more than a decade, let’s carry that torch to grow the pie of our Pokemon hobby through conversation as we welcome Zack to Pokemon Wonder!
