Pokemon Rants - A Wealth of Knowledge with Dan Norton (DJGigabyte)
Starting at an early age with Magic The Gathering and a plethora of other TCG’s, Dan evolved his way to Pokémon world events where he not only established his future in the hobby, but also turned down his future wife to be in order to buy more Pokémon cards. If this is not a dedication and love for the hobby, I truly don't know what it is! Delving into some of the most niche cards ever released or perhaps some that never technically were, Dan has made himself into the human encyclopedia of the Pokémon hobby and beyond. Kindling the love of Doctor Who that brought him back into the hobby, establishing the adult appropriate relationship with his favorite Pokemon Vaporeon, and ultimately educating the masses to some of the most important yet not widely known information in this hobby to date, we would not be where it is today if we did not have people like Dan Norton aka DJGigabyte with us along the journey. While it may have taken me hours to find a single still image of Dan smiling, I'm sure through today’s podcast we not only can make him but all of you smile along with us in what I know will be a very educational, enjoyable, and memorable conversation. Inspirated by those oh so special jungle packs from grandma and perhaps the Jolteon found therein, what was just a young boy's excitement has evolved like Eevee to a truly electrifying experience that will go down in the books Pokemon history. Just how deep can thought go? The truth is, you never know unless you peel back the onion and perhaps cry a little along the way. The man we have here today is not only as one of the most trusted wealth’s of knowledge, but also one of the most well-versed contributors to the Pokemon hobby, Shaun at Squeaks Game World has been a pillar of multiple verticals in (and even outside of Pokemon) that many admire. Much like Tomba trying to defeat the evil Koma Pigs to rightfully obtain that which already belonged to him, Shaun has battled more than a decade of foes and challenges that those of lesser muster would have thrown in the white flag. Now on new journeys of life that we will surely dive into today, Shaun is reinvigorated with flames that surpass any he has ever fathomed and perhaps have already become the jewels of life’s collection and his heart. Pokemon Rants - What Legends Are Made of with Legend of Luke
When the path of two people cross, you can immediately pick up on so much if you’re ever so brave to tune in and listen. Especially when the person has a big heart and gentle soul, they vibrate loudly while standing in silence. The Legend we have with us here embodies exactly these sentiments and so much more. Another victim of marketing and mother delivered childhood binder, Luke’s love for Pokemon was quickly reunited with that burning nostalgia. Combining his experience with graphic design, video editing and so much more, Luke has brought that nostalgia infused big heart and gentle soul to the Pokemon space with a new level of skill and professionalism. Well versed from collecting, selling, business, and even a little game play, Pokemon runs deep in Luke as it does for us all.
