Always wanting to get into Pokemon play early on, but just out of reach with her mom’s justified “no”, Ivy has come such a long way! From getting that oh so special call from mom that I found your childhood binder, to the unplanned hype around the washing machine Charizard, with a short digress into MetaZoo tournaments and now LIVIN THE DREAM owning her very own card store (Trading Card Garage)! Perhaps the “no” from her mom at that early age was just the fuel she needed to now skyrocket to new levels! Today we will dive into the what, why, how all this unfolded and much more, so join me in a warm welcome for Ivy as we park our attention with her & Trading Card Garage!

To be thrifty in Pokemon is more than the careful use of resources. Instead, it is the continuous learning of this ever-changing market, while applying a deep knowledge of past and present to project ourselves positively into the future. Elise at ThriftyTCG does all this and much more! Her roots run deep in the hobby as a collector ever since that Flareon 1st Edition Fossil pack artwork lured her in at the rubber stamp store with her mom. Temporarily pulled away due to the demands of competitive soccer and life’s changes, only to return to what she loves most and a newfound sense of enjoyment. Jumping into the content creation space, Collect-a-Con vending and much more, Elise has enriched her experiences within the vastness of this hobby. Known by many, but loved by more, let’s now get thrifty with Elise at the ThriftyTCG store!
Pokémon Rants - Long Live Pokémon with Gary King Pokémon
Very few in this hobby go back as far and as deep as the man we have here today. Starting his journey with a magnet and a string to turn one man’s trash into a collectable treasure, Gary quickly realized the deep collector passion within. Collecting nearly every TCG release since, he has amassed a collection some would say is nearly unobtainable today. But there was one part of his hobbies that resonated more than the others, that is Pokemon. Participating to bring the first Japanese CD Promos to the US even before Pokémon’s debut in English, to such memorable hobby reviving events such as Pawn Stars, and the famous Logan Paul transaction. Gary rose to the title of Gary “King” Pokemon. Owning that responsibility by looking out for the hobby and positively contributing with anyone he encounters. Now going around the world for guest appearances in Collect-a-cons and similar events to hand out packs and graded cards to the kids while funding his charity Autism Instruct, Gary’s contributions continue to spread far and wide. I’m honored to have the time and opportunity here to go into these moments in history and the man behind them perhaps in ways you have never heard before. It is my honor to welcome Gary “King” Pokemon to Pokemon Wonder!
Pokemon Rants - It Brings Us Together with Johto Jake
Many of us interact in the hobby in ways that would on the surface appear to be small. However, any willing to look ever so carefully will find that there's so much more behind the comment, the joke, the passive hello at a collective, or perhaps that awkward handshake with the other party that grasps your hand ever so quickly just enough that you're forced to give the dead fish. If we stop there, we miss the point and really the value altogether. It is people like Johto Jake that showcase what's really behind those seemingly brief interactions. And if we step back for just a few moments and abstractly ask ourselves what's weaving all of this together at its core and foundation and that is Pokémon. And if we are brave enough to crack open that treasure chest and blind ourselves by the light of people such as the man with me today, we will find things far more valuable than that treasure chest can possibly hold. Instead, we will find the pieces of this puzzle that truly bring us together and make this hobby a better place. I couldn’t be happier today to welcome Johto Jake to Pokemon Wonder.
Pokemon Rants - A Toast To Pokemon w/Beerski Collects
Steel and iron are some of the strongest materials that have built the world's infrastructure as we know it today. Revolutionizing our ability for travel, manufacturing, construction, and so much more, it is the bedrock of which we all depend on. In that same foundational way, we now have the man himself Beerski collects, not only is he an iron and steel worker himself, but he is also laying the bedrock of our Pokémon hobby that we all so dearly love. From his frozen mustache in the brutal winters to the scorching hot multi shower days of summer, Beerski pours his sweat and hard efforts now into the Pokémon hobby as a collector, buyer, seller, and most importantly beloved member. With that ever so critically important phone call from his mom during the hype of 2020 (“son grab your Pokemon cards and turn on the TV”), just like we start a new journey of life. So, drop down your welding shield to protect your senses to what happens next as we are going to open the floodgates of unleash Beerski collects.
