From video game reviews with a group of friends in a popular series called “Couch Kings”, to flying solo and rebranded as Parzival and now embracing his inner child with Pokemon combined with his love of coffee & the Japanese devil, @JavaAkuma has been on a path of content creation beautifully crafted with entertainment and fun. From such memorable moments as “Mom Reacts”, “You Laugh You Lose”, “Wheel of Fortune”, and “The Price Is Right”, Java is a man of many trades and skills, yet a consistent desire to deliver quality entertainment. Much like the molten lava that ultimately finds its way to the surface, Java’s potential and success continues to heat up and find outlets within the surrounding environment. So take several steps back in order to not get burned, yet turn up the volume as we discover the heat of his success just before the Eruption! JavaAkuma, welcome to Pokemon Wonder.
There are few people in the hobby that live in such antithesis to their own name. “Basic” Trainer is everything but basic. Rooted deeply with a foundation of integrity, honor and trust, Basic has built a name for himself that is shouted from the mountain tops even when he is silent. This my friends is how you know we are far from the basics. Breaking records throughout our space from 24hour livestreams, day dreaming about other people’s grandmas, to a weird obsession with My Little Pony & Pikchu, he continues to pleasantly surprise us all. Even though he has stumbled down a dark path (called Metazoo), he luckily was able to keep his torch lit to guide his way out of the darkness. Now back into the light that is Pokemon, we will see just what his journey has in store. So let’s knock one out of the park, and celebrate a home run victory like its the Cubs with the, the only Basic Trainer.
On the the surface, Pokemon looks like nothing more than a kids game with little to no value other than having some pocket monsters ending up in your kids back pocket that will most likely ruin your next next load of laundry. However, any who dare to step into this space and tumble down the rabbit hole like Alice in Wonder Land will find an entire world filled with more candy and temptations than Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory and better connections than the well known sitcom Friends. The true connections and memories that are made through Pokemon is the real pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. As we will unravel here today, Filipe embodies everything we have articulated thus far and so much more. From deepening his bond with his son through Pokemon, building a plethora of life long friendships through social media and up to this very moment of spending time with us here today. I’m truly honored to welcome Filipe De Sousa to Pokemon Wonder!
If we were to say to someone outside of this hobby; “Hey do you want to come spend the next 6 hours with me in a Pokemon online live stream opening packs, participating in giveaways and being part of an amazing community?” You would mostly get the cocked head to the side, squinted eyebrows and slightly opened mouth, just before the polite and undoubtably “no”. Well that is only because they have never been in a live stream hosted by Mr. Rob himself aka Red or Blue! This man has perfected the craft of throwing a livestream party that thousands look forward to each and every week. But don’t get things twisted, Rob and Pokemon go back to his childhood ripping packs looking for that Base Set Blastoise fast forwarding to today he continues to kindle a true desire and love for Pokemon. Navigating his content creation journey from late night whispering in the kitchen too excited to sleep with a newly delivered package of Pokemon burning to be opened to deep market analysis and concise delivery to his ever growing audience. Rob is a man of many traveled roads all of which has built the success we see here today. It is truly and deeply my pleasure to welcome Rob to Pokemon Wonder!
Going even deeper into the woods as we kickoff 2024, we dive right back into what I know will be another great podcast today with NorthwoodsTCG (Andy). While back in the mystical time of the $49.99 WOTC booster boxes at the local Sam Goody, at the ripe age of 12 years old Andy collided with the release of this new game called Pokemon (and thank goodness too as he was on a dark path with Magic), Andy dove head first into the world of Pokemon with a focus on the TCG. Fast forward nearly 23 years later, and he starts to share that amazing experience with his son and shortly thereafter a new journey here on YouTube. Effectively finding his path and weaving together the worlds of collecting, investing, business, TCG and more Andy brings a wealth of experience and perspectives that is hard to find under a single mind. Let's give a warm welcome to NorthwoodsTCG!
